The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) - TRAIN is currently executing a program in Egypt titled the "Empowerment Program for Women in Handicrafts and Heritage Exports." This initiative represents TRAIN's commitment to supporting and empowering women entrepreneurs specializing in various sectors, including copperwork, leatherwork, linen and cotton products, natural soap products, silver and stone jewelry, glass products, clothing accessories, stained glass, bamboo products, carpets, and more.
Export Readiness Assessment
GIZ - TRAIN successfully delivered the Export Readiness Assessment program, focusing on assessing and enhancing the export capabilities of 30 companies in Cairo and Alexandria. The comprehensive methodology involved the development of a structured questionnaire to evaluate key areas of export readiness, followed by interview-based assessments with top management. Diagnostic reports were generated for each company, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, with actionable recommendations. Subsequently, a tailored capacity development program, comprising group workshops and one-on-one mentorship, was designed to address specific needs. The program culminated in a comprehensive final report, evaluating its effectiveness in empowering participating companies for international expansion. This initiative demonstrates TRAIN's commitment to facilitating the long-term sustainability and economic contributions of SMEs in the global market.
Export Managers Certificate
USAID (TRADE) - TRAIN is currently managing the Export Managers Certification Program (EMCP) in collaboration with the USAID TRADE Project, Nexford University, Nile University, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport. The EMCP addresses the increasing need for well-trained professionals in international trade, offering three levels of training for export managers, assistants, and business owners across various industries.
MSME Tax Support Program
-USAID -Business Egypt (BE) - TRAIN has designed a series of training programs delivered in each governorate separately (Cairo, Alexandria and Assiut) by experts to the targeted category of unregistered MSMEs, entrepreneurs and individuals operating in the specified 3 sectors (renewable energy, ICT, and logistics) and their value chains, with the purpose of enhancing their capabilities. The technical training programs aim towards transferring the necessary knowledge to MSMEs, entrepreneurs and individuals on the tax and non-tax incentives secured by the Egyptian government for small to medium sized companies, and to provide them with the required knowledge on the tax system in Egypt and its recent developments as well as the required processes and procedures for registering on the online tax system. All training programs will be highly interactive in nature and will follow a “Problem Driven” approach that helps present practical solutions and live cases facing Egyptians as they deal with the taxation system. The training’s approach therefore focuses more on presenting practical solutions and discussions to overcome tax challenges rather than simply treating the symptoms. The material presented is tailored to the beneficiaries’ level of understanding, background and current challenges. In addition, all material is developed from a gender perspective, and is customized to suit the needs of female audiences and methods and approaches to learning. All workshops are delivered and presented in Arabic by local experts who have extensive and practical background in the taxation field to ensure their professional impact on the beneficiaries.
